This seems rather idiotic. Do fingerprints change after 30 days?
It is idiotic. From what I have heard they only "stay" in the system for 30 days. My bet is they will download them, put the results in a folder that will sit until they get to em. Kind of like they do now as nothing seems to happen in under 30 days with current apps.

It's incredible how expensive this process is when you add up the application fee, fingerprints, training requirement. Good argument to be made that these fees are requirements are similar to poll taxes back in the day. Discriminatory against lower income residents for sure.
Exactly... purchasing your second amendment right.

They requested additional banking information from me on Monday and I included my business license in the application along with receipts and deposit slips.
Why? Maryland is Shall Issue now whether they want to be or not, meaning as long as you are not a felon/domestic abuser and can pass a NICS check, you will get a permit

I wouldn’t give them shit, but again that’s why I choose not to live there

Any deviance from this and you can sue them dry

I'm sure Maryland will keep the other categories and require documentation. "Self Defense" is a shall issue reason, but that doesn't mean they can't keep alternative reasons for concealed carry in hopes that someone doesn't know and selects the wrong reason. If he applied as a business owner, they'll make you continue to submit documentation and your permit will only be valid while acting under the employ of the employer. This is a way for them to limit, albeit very slightly, the number of permits (hope someone selects the wrong reason). This way the State can still honestly say it has a shall-issue permit (self defense).

Once his license is granted, it'll likely have the restriction applied and he'll have to pay a $10 fee to submit a modification request.

Law abiding is easy. Good luck with a legal definition of “responsible”.
Paying rent/mortgage/taxes in a timely fashion? Not filing bankruptcy? Having gainful employment?

All of these are good indicators of being responsible...right? I know, MSP would beg to differ.

I went through https://gearedupfirearmsaccessories.com in Westminster a year ago. Great people, extremely helpful, fingerprinting onsite. I can't say enough nice things about them. My son and several of his friends went through them as well. If you're interested in getting Utah and Florida permits they'll help with that too.

The review board, won't have that much to do now, except for dealing with the marijuana folks who want a carry permit.
Pretty sure the review board was abolished when they opened up permits to business owners. My paranoid side (at least when it comes to government) tells me that they did this to close off any avenues of escape when they eventually tighten the rules again in the near future. As many have previously stated, I also don't necessarily believe that the state will accede to last week's Supremes decision without lots of foot-dragging.
