      I ordered a Radom pistol from aimsurplus. I also did hand pic for an additional $10. If I ever can get a CCW, it should make a perfect carry gun.

      Fluting just adds cost more than anything else. From what I've heard, it's purely cosmetic.

      Only Chinese dragonuv rifles are banned. Get a Russian one instead. AK banned in all formats probably includes RPKs, DMR type marksman rifles, shotguns and pistols. Veprs are neat guns. So are M1. Gerands, AR-10s and others. I doubt you can reason with a liberal activist state like maryland...

      For home defense any reliable gun is OK. Just use glasser or magsafe, maybe hollow points if nothing else is available. Avoid range stuff to prevent over penetration.

      The Rashid rifle, similar to the Hakim, fires the AK round. It's a curio and relic, which makes it same day cash and carry.

      The Vepr is an AK "in any format" no less. I wish you could do the Zastava M76 or PSL, but my FFL said no, still AKs. VZ and SKS are both good rifles, however. I have yet to understand why a HBAR is legal but a RPK which is a heavy barrel AK is not.

      Ok, but what if you take a non approved handgun like a master piece arms MAC-10 knock off or an UZI or a PPS-43c and have it legally converted into a SBR? Is that legal? Does the presence of a folding stock matter?
