Went today around 11. Didn't walk out with anything, but there were some fun things to look at. All the dealers I talked to were friendly, which is always a plus.
Agreed, three of my purchases this year were guns that I stumbled across at shows and hadn't been specifically searching for. I like the 'wonder what will I find today' feeling. Though I'd disagree with the younger person generalization, being young myself.
Admittedly, I don't know what most of the markings mean. I remember the slide is marked 'cyq,' which is Spreewerk I believe. I'll put pics up once it's in hand.
Recently found out about the sport, looking forward to the Damascus IWLA new shooter clinic in March!
Don't have any of the guns/gear yet, I figure it's best to try stuff out at the clinic and a match or two to try to get a feel for what I like.
I've shot the 22/45 and the SR-22 a lot, so here's my thoughts on those:
The only thing I have against the 22/45 is that it's kind of a pain to disassemble for cleaning. It feels great, shoots accurately, and looks very nice, especially if you opt for wood grips.

Spent a few hours at the show this morning. I went primarily to look at old handguns, and there were plenty. The Shooters' Discount staff in particular were great about letting me handle a bunch of their merchandise, I kept coming back to their tables for another look. I'd call that a good day.
