Have them shoot a variety of weapons starting with .22lr. Whatever they like - go in that direction. Go over some how to shoot fundamentals first so they have some technique. They should shoot/own what they like to shoot, so they actually practice and enjoy it.
I sold cutco decades ago. My parents still use them, and still occasionally buy additional cutco products to add to what they have. However, I have come to prefer other knives. If you’re not a ‘knife guy’, they can be great. For me, I think they cost too much for what you get, and prefer other...
Carry the gun you’ll enjoy practicing with. Don’t worry about caliber. If you practice with the gun and enjoy shooting it, that’s your best chance of of successfully using it, should that be necessary, in self defense. Sort out the practical issues of what you choose after you know what your...
You can get a quickie satellite survey for cheap and fast. I’d get one. Then also get an in person high end survey to get the stakes and super official and accurate markers. Yes to trail cameras, maybe monitoring house as well, if you can conceal them well. Go to the local police now and explain...
Looks great! I’ve only made very rough shop knives. That looks great for a first go! I hope you keep at it- metals are amazing materials to work with and learn about (I’m a welder by trade).
I have an edge pro for when I want a better edge than a quickie sharpen on a rod or stone, and it can give a phenomenal edge. I used the scissor attachment on hair scissors and it worked great first time- it’s a great product! ...but I enjoy knife sharpening in my spare time...
Very few people buy only the guns they ‘need.’ Guns are fun- So if you want it, buy it! Have fun and enjoy it! If you don’t like it, drop me a line- I’ve thought many times about buying one myself...
Ceasefires are mandatory and there’s no excuse. Pull out your cell phone and videotape (dating myself) that person if there’s no RSO and they ignore a ceasefire. Then get an RSO, and offer to show them the video when you bring them over. There’s no excuse.
I used to hunt rats with a Benjamin Marauder .22- awesome!! Highly recommend! They also make a .22 pistol. They are very accurate, quiet, and I took rats out to 30 yards no problem. The bolt action you can work quickly, but one shot DRT kills in to the shoulder aren’t hard once you get the hang...
Another vote for compass. I’ve been wanting to shoot one for a while and have heard great things from the friend who has one. Lots of caliber options. Also leaves $ for a better scope. A 3-9 leupold would be a lifetime Scope, and fit in budget easily with a compass or compass compact.
Buying a firearm for hd should be a commitment to train with that gun. Buy something you enjoy shooting! It’s worth it to shoot a bunch of different guns - friends or at a rental range - before you buy. Also don’t be afraid to buy more than one if different family members take to different guns...
Welcome!
Another voice saying the same things:
Taxes here can be nuts- varies by county but generally high.
Traffic is top 3? 5? In the country.
Counties matter in MD. Laws and taxes and governments can be very different from one to another.
If you’d like the name of my real estate guy...
Sorry offline all weekend. Had a great time shooting at Agc, although not nearly enough time! Also brought a bunch of guns since it had been a long time since I’d shot, and I just wanted to shoot them... didn’t get to work on anything, but had a great time!!!
I’m really happy to be on here -...
