We get plenty of snakes here. I put out glue traps to catch mice. The larger ones made for rats will hold a snake.
Then I take them out to a wooded corner of our property. If you spray the glue trap with veg spray, the snake can work it’s way off without harm. Lives to eat more mice.

We prefer the Thrive Life brand of long term storage food. Very food quality & taste.
We tried samples of the Wise foods and no one in my family liked them.
Best to sample before committing in bulk.
I’ll 2nd or 3rd adding liter bottles of water to your freezer to increase the frozen mass. Like having an ice battery if the power goes out for a short time.
We have a small chest freezer we got years ago. It was free to a good home. Bins are recommended too for organizing.
