I recently started to reload sabot's . All the components can be gotten here http://slugsrus.com/store/handload.html . slugs r us recommends a few different powders . I didn't care for the blue dot . They shot fair groups but had a lot of un burnt powder. So I got some IMR 4756 but I haven't...
I'm sighted in with these slugs right now they didn't shoot bad in my 1100.. I haven't shot anything with them yet though.. I tried them because they were cheaper.. I'm in the process of loading 12ga sabots now so hopefully I wont have to pay the high price for long.. Congrats on your deer
You would probably need to check the twist rate of your rifle to see if it would stabilize the 62 or 70 grn.. They are not showing any load data for anything over there 53gr for the swift
I have taken five deer with the 62 and 70 grn TSX ( it turns the boiler room to mush ) . All were pass through s and twice through the off shoulder on the way out, all one shot kills and nothing went farther than about 80 yds It's a great choice for the .223 for deer
I have taken several deer with the Barnes 62 and 70 grn TSX and it has done a incredible job of making mush of the vitals. All pass through's and all one shot kills..
I use BH 209 with mag 209s in my prohunter and have never had a issue.. Awesome powder, wouldn't shoot anything else.. I'm shooting 90 grains and it does great
