Who's getting in some fishing?
Shaky head. I’m honestly not sure what brand it is, and it’s not one I prefer. It was really windy and the smaller ones that I like to use were making it too hard to feel bottom. Luckily I have a few of these kicking around in the tackle box and they worked.- Russ D

CZ 457, Bergara B14R, or....?
Yeah 50 yard groups aren’t impressive. Most decent .22s can do that if you cherry pick groups with good box ammo. I’ve shot 100 yard groups like that with CCI but they aren’t the standard group that will tell you what the gun can do on average. -

I have a steel Bergara B14r with an Arken SH4. I’ve done a ton of ammo testing and it likes two flavors or Eley or Lapua Midas. The more budget stuff like SK will shoot around moa if the wind isn’t bad. The Lapua pushes .5 at 100 with no wind. You are welcome to come shoot it if you want to run... -

It’s probably your ammo then. Before I reload any semi auto I always run 500 rounds of good factory ammo to make sure function is 100%. At least then you know if it’s gun or ammo. My WAG is you powder isn’t right or they aren’t hot enough. Non adjustable gas block is basically wide open... -

I’ve been known to plug barrels with my fingers and blow into the muzzle to determine if there are restrictions and misalignments with the gas block. If you know what it “should” feel like you can get a good idea. Also there are some powders that just do not create the right gas pulse to... -

Favorite braided line for spinning reels
I too have used Fireline since it came out. IMHO it’s the GOAT of braided lines. In recent times I’ve done more freshwater fishing so I switched to all flouro except two rods for top water lures. In that case I just buy whatever is cheapest, and Walmart usually has decent deals on Spiderwire.- Russ D

Adventures in .22lr long range shooting
I’ve got a similar looking stack of flavors. None of the Lapua impressed me much, but it does shoot pretty well in my 10/22. For whatever reason it just prefers the Eley stuff. The one that shot the smallest group at 100 was Federal gold medal match, but I don’t think they even make it anymore... -

If you have a Samsung tablet you can still get Strelok on the Samsung App Store. For now I’ve been focusing on the match ammo that is giving me the best groups at 100 and that I have a good supply of. My next trip I’ll be using Eley match. -
