Hypothetical: How much would you pay for a MD Carry Permit

I already pay two other states about $100 fro multiple years (Florida is 7 years.) I'd pay the same for my "home state", as long as it unrestricted.like most other States.

      Opinions on Emerson knives?

I have an Emerson in the Commander series and love it. It's my "go to" carry knife.

      New PX at Fort Meade

Was there Tuesday. Fair selection, but I didn't see any SIGs, and there was another guy there looking for Glocks, and I think there were only two. One of the handgun display counters was mostly wheel guns.

      Getting a MD hunting license

When I got my first MD hunting permit a few years ago I used a Hunters Safety Card I got in New York in the 60's. The only question I was asked was where the card number was, I answered "they didn't have numbers back then". But, my MD permit was issued...

      First knife?

Spent 19 years in Army EOD and never did figure out what a "demo knife" really was. Most of us carried a TL-29, a pair of lineman's pliers, and crimpers in a leather lineman's pouch. Later added a Navy MKII to the kit for heavy range use (Taped the pouch to the knife sheath). Never had a...

      First knife?

Like most I had a Scout knife, a 2 bladed "whittler", and carried it everyplace. Got it at about age 10 - 11, and back then actually carried it in school everyday with no problems! (This was in the mid 60's.) These days I carry a Swiss Army Knife.

      C&R handguns in stock.

Holy crap, I saw the Browning Medalist in the page for about $1500.00! I had the same thing, a couple years older (1966 manufacture?), and at the time I bought it I paid about $85 for it with the case and all the accessories shown.

      Another DINO voted!

 I was just about to post the same thing, voted last Friday and left just hoping it does us all some good. Scary how many of them are running unopposed!

      New Maryland Training Requirements

There is really no conflicting information, if you read it carefully you will note to not need anything the word "retired" is used, in your second quoted paragraph it states "discharged". That is the difference, and discharged does not mean retired, since retirement is usually at least 20 years...

Just keep in mind the answers so far are for Maryland. In other States your mileage may vary!! (Just saying, since you didn't specify a specific location.)

Getting new rear sights for a flintlock

Actually for a 45 cal. pistol 40 grains of 3F sounds like it should be about right. In my 45 cal rifle I get the best accuracy out of 60 grains 3F. Like most things there is an optimum load, so you can play around with it by trying different loads.
