Go with the M&P .22. The gun eats anything you throw at it and it has a nice full size grip on it. I get nothing but compliments when someone asks to shoot it. Luckily it's a .22, so sharing isn't to hard on the wallet not like my .45 or .223.
I have the M&P 22 and it's awesome. It'll eat anything you throw at it and it feels great in the hand. Not to mention if you own any other M&P pistols (9mm...) you'll be right at home with handeling it.
I can't even get the feed to work right now, but people in my office must think I'm doing something awesome for the company because I keep yelling f--k ya from reading these posts. Keep'em coming!
