      State Police Progress

I was wondering if anyone had any information as to what aprox. filing dates the MSP were currently at in conducting background investigations? I was informed of a 7 week wait, but that was about 9 weeks ago. When I called up the FFL and asked if he had any new information I was told he...

Two more newb questions: Week wait and Lower

My rifle was shipped with a 20 round magazine... will the FFL be able to give it to me after my BGC is complete? Do I have to get rid of it as of Oct 1st? Edit: Also, what happens after Nov 1st? Can I ever sell or transfer my firearm, would it have to be out of state only?

Free? Well, I didn't know that. Hmmm... Yeah, I still have friends and family back home. Cuomo used the "message of necessity" clause to bypass the 3 day public review period (which lower courts cannot rule on the legitimacy of). Most lawsuits have already been thrown out, only one that...

Two more newb questions: Week wait and Lower

Man, this forum is great for info. Guys, really, thanks. I don't think I need collector status honestly. I don't buy very often, or make the money to buy as often as I'd even like ,which still wouldn't need a collector's license for. Just out of curiosity, what PBJs? (I'm assuming you...

Two more newb questions: Week wait and Lower

Thanks, I didn't know about the purchase order date! What do you mean by "IF"? I've never done anything that would lead to a DQ. Are they making disapprovals a more common occurrence now too??

Oh, I didn't know that. Is that the norm in MD? Back in the ol' People's Republic of New York, they pass some laws that take instant effect. (unSAFE Act)

Two more newb questions: Week wait and Lower

That's what I figured... I don't understand what you mean? I already bought the rifle. Purchased it straight from the manufacturer online at the end of January. Waited 6 weeks for delivery. Filled out my paperwork, now I have to wait 7 weeks for approval.

Two more newb questions: Week wait and Lower

Hello again, all! Back again with some questions regarding MD laws regarding regulated firearms. Man o' man, and I thought I moved into a free state.... 1) Apparently, and I'm sure this is not news to the rest of you, the 10 day wait period for a regulated firearm is now 7 weeks... is this...

      "Regulated Firearms" Registration Question

I never feel bad when a public servant is actually required to do their job and serve the public and could care less what they think. If being asked a question is bothersome to them, then I can only imagine how handling all the phone calls, paper work, bureaucracies that come with the job must...

      "Regulated Firearms" Registration Question

Thanks again for all of the help, guys. I do appreciate it. One last question (I promise): Everything thus far has been me relying on the state or an FFL to keep the records up to date. I I ever sell the rifle and it happens to be out of state, can I go to MSP myself, show all proof of sales...

      "Regulated Firearms" Registration Question

Thanks, for a second I thought I was crazy. I honestly don't understand why everyone seems so nonchalant about still being legally registered to a firearm you no longer own. Must be my diseased NY litigious brain going into self-defense mode.

      "Regulated Firearms" Registration Question

Matt, You pretty much sum up my concerns, and also address them. Although it's not for something that I've already sold, but might in the near future. I'll try to get you up to speed without sounding too much like a wacko. I have never liked the idea of any type of registration. In my mind...

      "Regulated Firearms" Registration Question

Thanks, mpickering! I appreciate the help, extremely informative. I guess if I ever do decied to get rid of it, i'll make sure it goes through an FFL In Maryland that way the records are kept in-state, although one last question, you guys have been a lot of help. You mentioned that selling...

      "Regulated Firearms" Registration Question

Thanks for the help! I know I'd have to go through an FFL if I ever sold out of state, federal law, but I guess what I'm wondering is if that transfer also "officially" removes the registration from me. Keeping paper work wouldn't really be enough of a peace of mind for me in that situation...
