It's probably been said but Patuxent is good. At least I saw 4 turkeys there my first day out by myself. Wasn't too busy either. Seemed busier during COVID, but it's such a big place I bet u can find a spot.

Hi All! I'm doing my first deer hunt with the DNR later this month at Blackwater Refuge. There aren't a lot of campgrounds around there, so I'm looking for someone who has land and would be willing to let me and a buddy setup camp (tents) for a couple nights over two weekends. I have a chemical...
Hi folks...My first purchase was a 1957 (or so) Mossberg 295 12ga bolt action. Identical to this one: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/761703115
I want to use it for turkey hunting this year, and was recommended to get a full choke. Warning, I'm new to shotguns, so don't know more about chokes...
Hi guys. I'm new to shooting. Usually just go drill by myself or with a buddy. Have never shot competitively, and only on YouTube.
Anyway, main design criteria here is that it has to be done at an indoor, public range. And hopefully something we can self-score (no judges). Obviously we could...
Hi folks...I can't believe this hasn't been asked, so point me to the thread if there's one already that you know of. I did a little searching and didn't see one.
Question: What are some "unconventional" CCW applicaiton strategies that folks have used to obtain one in MD? Feel free to...
Just skimming this thread. My wife and I recently moved back to MoCo from Los Angeles. I joined Gilbert Range and the Rockville IWLA to have a couple close places to shoot. But as we think about where to buy, I'd really like to get 2-5 wooded acres to have a place to plink, or setup berms, or at...
Check out Isaak Walton Leagues in Montgomery County
I just joined Rockville, but there are 5 or 6 in the county. They're general outdoor conservancy orgs, but most have a range or two. Once you're a member, you can use the range and bring guests. Will probably be accepted well by your gang...
What a great question and responses. I'm no gun expert, but my dad has a Winchester 25/20, 1892 Model (built in 1910 or so) that's great to shoot. So I'd vote lever action based on no experience with anything else :)

Hi guys! Thanks to everyone for the pointers on this thread! Applied for my C&R and it came through last week. Now I just can't wait to use it :)
Cheers, and Happy Holidays!
Thanks, guys! I thought that rule sounded pretty off-base, and not at all what I'd read in my own research on transferring guns from my dad in MI to CA (and now to MD, since we're back on this coast). I'll let my buddy know.
