OP is understating the ego, he literally said he could out shoot anyone there and we could arrange range time for him to prove it. There were 2 other instructors from heritage there that were great. I was annoyed that they intentionally tried to mess with the hql qualification by loading mags...
Gen1 1x is clunky, recently upgraded to PA slx microprism 1x with the 9mm gemini reticle for pcc and think it is well worth an extra $50 over the spitfire.

I would try putting some crossman pel gun oil to the seals first, this revived the dried out seals on a similar vintage blue streak for me. There is an article on the web that shows how to rebuild them if something else is wrong besides the dried out seals - rebuild kits are available.
