Colt SA Frontier Scout 22 LR -- cleanup

Hi all, haven't been around in a while, hope y'all are doing well. My wife inherited a Colt Single Action Frontier Scout 22 LR, see attached images. A quick google serial number lookup said it was manufactured in the 1960s. At the surface it looks alright, but minor issues with the finish...

Aimpoint - Real or a Fake?

Packaging is the same as the Aimpoint Pro I purchased a couple of weeks back. Serial and "Made in Sweden" on there implies it's legit. You could probably call them and ask to check the serial (and/or register it).

Not sure if serious or sarcastic.

One in the chamber at home??

Under 16. However that restriction does not apply to a minor who has completed MD approved hunter safety training. Edit: reading the law again, it states loaded firearm... implying to me you could leave an unloaded firearm sitting around the house... Md. CRIMINAL LAW Code Ann. § 4-104...

Hafers: Do ya'll carry WipeOut bore cleaner? I'd rather pick some up locally instead of paying out the arse for shipping. :)

      Home Defense Ammo - 12ga

I think that can be said for most of us here. Again, I'm not an expert, but those who say the shot will behave like a slug... we're talking about 400-something tiny pellets compared to a single 1oz slug... I would be willing to bet that both loads fired at the same ballistic gelatin at the...

      Home Defense Ammo - 12ga

I hope you're talking about most shootings occurring within 7 feet, i.e. across the living room. Which is probably true. In a situation that may lead to life or death, I hope that the shotgunner reaches for buckshot... I am not an expert...

      Home Defense Ammo - 12ga

I would not trust birdshot to be effective at 20 feet. Well, as I already stated, I would not trust birdshot in a self defense situation at all. Just see the youtube video I posted, at the 2:33 mark.

      Home Defense Ammo - 12ga

Say NO to birdshot for defense. Period. 00 buck has generally been accepted as the standard, however some people are switching to #1 or #4 buck.

      Does living in WV Suck?

I defected to West Virginia over a year ago. I am not a homeowner in WV though, so I have no insight to anything about that. Obviously the gun laws are much much better, and for many gun enthusiasts this is enough reason to cross the river. As others here have stated... jobs kinda suck. I...

      hoppes 9 and polymer

I wouldn't sink a poly part in Hoppes but I don't think a small splash as a result of cleaning metal parts will hurt, just wipe it off.
