      Primer Notifications

Ordered the limit for myself too. Brownells has always come through. I have ordered a lot of primers from them and Natchez in the past. Powder too. Jack

What did you do at your reloading bench today?

Assuming a muzzle velocity in warm weather of 1900 to 2000 fps and s ballistic coefficient of about 0.211 a 3" drop is around 350 fps lower velocity. ( I used JBM Ballistics to make the estimate). That seams like a lot, but I don't have any experience with a 45/70 or the powder you used. Jack

What did you do at your reloading bench today?

The least temperature sensitive powder I load with is H4350. I have chronograph data between near 0 to just above 100 degrees. The following is my muzzle velocity curve for my 6.5 CM with 140 yr Hornady ELD Match bullets. Temps in degrees Fahrenheit. 0 Degrees 2751 fps 20 Degrees 2756 fps 40...

      Bullet puller

I have an old Midway kinetic puller. As stated above, these work well for the odd round now and again that needs pulling. I put a piece of cotton in the bottom to avoid bullet damage. Powder is messy, but again for occasional use, good enough. I also have the RCBS collet type puller. I bought...

      AGC guest policy

If you go to the AGC website (https://agcrange.org/about/range-rules-and-target-frame-info/) and down load the rules, the admin Section (B) says up to 4 guests at one station and the minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult. There are requirements to sign in, get a wrist band after...

      Current Decent Scope Brands

I have been thoroughly entertained by this thread over the past week or so. I do admit that I am a Leopold snob, when it comes to hunting rifles. All my big game rifles are topped with Leopolds ranging from a 2-7x33 for my muzzle loader and 3-9x40 and 4-12x40s on the centerfire rifles. I have...

      Bad primers?

I had a primer issue a couple years ago. It was with some Winchester large rifle primers. The last sleeve of 100 out of a 1000 primer brick were bad. I used most of the primers to load for my .270 Win and a .243 Rem. Never had and issue. Then I started using them to develop a load for a new 6.5...

      Magnetospeed me

The offer was not totally altruistic, deer season is around the corner, so verifying zero on a rifle I have not shot since spring is in order and I just finished loading a pile of 45 ACP that needs to be shot. Figured meeting you there would make the trip happen sooner, rather than later...

      Magnetospeed me

I could meet you at AGC in Marriotsville tomorrow with my labradar so you can get data. I have to cut my lawn, other than that my day is open. If you belong to another range and I can be a guest, that could work too. You can PM me if you like. Jack
