I understand that conversion kit is not permanent. But removing gas block or tube wouldn't it make it permanent?
Well without the gas block, 22lr conversion will still work as semiauto since 22lr does not need gas blow back to cycle.
Yes the upper I have is stamped 556. If I remove the gas block or gas tube which will prevent cylcle of 223/556 round so it wont be considered a dedicater 22lr upper?
I tried searching but I cannot find an answer anywhere.
I have a post 2013 lower, 223 pencil barrel upper, and a CMMG 22lr conversion bolt carrier group that I want to make it into a dedicated 22lr AR 15
-Is it legal if I just slap 223 pencil barrel upper with the CMMG 22lr conversion kit...
Approved 9-24-15!!!!! and got my stamp about a week later. I went the CLEO signature route. MSP took longer than the ATF. MSP took 1.5 month to get it approved.
I mailed mine to GA, and my checks were cashed 3 days later. The lady told me to send my app to GA. If I send it to WV, ATF have to send my app to GA then back to WV.
Update
Just received my PA47 upper yesterday. Surprisingly the barrel is a HBAR or at least looks like it. The diameter stays the same size and does not get smaller after the gas block. the diameter only get bigger near the upper receiver. Looks like I don't have worry about being legal or not...
I understand but thats for 223/556 but we are talking about about 7.62 calibers to see if its exempt from hbar. Again windham 762 is legal in Md per MSP and the manufacturer stated its not a hbar.
I just ordered the psa ar47 upper, if windham is legal i dont see why not it wouldnt be legal for...
Thanks for the info!
Im still confused, Windham Weaponry AR 15 in 7.62x39 is listed as legal on MSP's list of rifles. The Windham Weaponry is a NON Hbar and uses the same lower as any other AR15s. Unless MSP is confused, thinking that this Windham Weaponry is a AR10.
