New Shooting Range in St. Mary's County

It was put on hold because the issuing officer had too many questions and wanted answers before continuing the application.

Application is back up for review with additional revisions. Waiting on hearing back from the bank again.

      Southern Maryland Meet and Greet!

I will have a better idea when it gets closer to the date.

Well, it's mostly bad news. My application was put on hold pending further review. I have a meeting with the manager to find out why next week as well as potential investors (which may be the reasoning for the review)

      My Most Recent Buy

Thanks. I was really excited when I won the auction and only paid $195 for it.

      My Most Recent Buy

I had heard about that too but if did my research correctly, this one did not. Only reason it's got a sporter stock is because the original cracked beyond repair. I am planning on restoring it but but every 1903 stock in half decent shape is as much as I paid for the rifle :sad20:

      My Most Recent Buy

Well, I could not pass on this. It is a Remington Model M1903 in 30-06 manufactured in 1942 for WWII. I am so excited with it. What do you all think?

Should be hearing something soon from the bank. Loan paperwork has been taken to the next level for approval so I am assuming this is a good thing. I have also found a way around the perk test so I am still planning on opening the long distance part upgraded to about 25 lanes at 500 yards.

It's always nice to see the support that I have been receiving in my endeavor to open a new range. Thank you everyone.

Awesome, I love to here this. And if my last count was correct, I have close to a 1,000 people eagerly awaiting/already wanting a membership, which is an overwhelming response.

Zoning was a difficult option. I actually spoke, in great lengths, to the Dept. of Zoning in order to find the correct areas where I could operate the range. The list was very very small and the areas I could, I have to appear before the Appeals Board for any approval. Still not looking forward...

As do I. The agreement will most likely be one page front and back.

Exactly. I have seen what other ranges require in their membership contracts and a lot of it I see as being nonessential.
