      I'm not a lefty, but I carry my knife in my front-left pocket and I shoot cross-dominant, so I can sympathize. I've been eyeballing some fixed blades in magnacut, but I already have too many folders and have been trying to thin the herd a little bit.

      Mine is a plain edge. I carry it if I'm fishing or if I'm going hiking and will be sweating a ton. I see Spyderco is making the Native Salt in magnacut now. I don't know if they will transition all of the salt series to magnacut steel or stick with H1 for a while.

      My 3 most-carried knives are all Spydercos: Delica wave in VG-10 Yojimbo 2 in S30V Pacific Salt 2 in H1 My understanding is that magnacut has better corrosion resistance than H1 and better edge retention than S30V and VG-10.

      I emailed MSP Friday and they responded this morning that my permit was returned to sender. They are re-sending it. Not sure why USPS wasn't able to tell me that. For anyone else having issues, MSP was much more helpful over email than over the phone.

      Maine gives you DE as well and does not require a fingerprint card. Slightly more expensive than Utah, but saves you paying for another set of prints.       Sweet! Haven't searched the used market very hard, but I'd rather purchase a police trade or a gun that I know the history of rather than ending up with someone's failed gunsmithing project.

      To answer OP's prompt, I shoot Glocks really well. My first handgun was a polymer-framed Sig SP2022 in 9mm. I shoot my buddy's G17 better than my Sig. Handling in a gun store is fine, but it pays to get some range time with whatever you're going to purchase if at all possible.

      Permit approved 12/1, mailed 12/2, appeared in Informed Delivery 12/5, still have not received in hand. USPS says there's nothing they can do without a tracking number and that it might have been sent to the wrong post office. MSP Licensing told me they won't consider issuing a replacement...

      USPS responded telling me that Informed Delivery does not mean the mail is going to be delivered on that date (duh). Tomorrow will be 10 days after it was mailed and a week after it showed up in Informed Delivery. I can start a Missing Mail Search Request Friday. Hopefully I get it tomorrow...
