Had some fun w/ my GP100 tonite
I did see some forcing cone erosion with this revolver. Like LOTS.. even though I shot only a couple of dozen of these real hot loads. But accuracy was still good and no spitting really. no cuts in the topstrap either. (Talked to the guy again he said he had it chronoed at 1700 fps out of a 6... -
Revolver Ammo question
Soo... I am replacing my high round count GP100 4 inch (with eroded forcing cone) with a new 3 inch courtesy of Ruger warranty service. I wanted a 3 inch and specifically requested it (handy, well know to be a good performer in 3 inch etc etc) I still have a stash of two hot factory loads... -

I thought that was weird too. :innocent0 And if I really wanted to be picky I could ,mention that he never improved his position when he ran dry. But he was probably looking at it from a SWAT TTP which has been the fad on the square ranges , and that doesnt include that as best practices...- Erick

If he was actually demonstrating a tactical reload like he said he would (but he didnt) your point would hold as he would then be "off-target" But since he was really doing an emergency reload (which implies he is in the middle of a firefight) the weapon dindt get "off-target" so the safety...- Erick

Bingo!!! Speed3 takes it. MD shooters wins this one. Max Velocity Tactical forum (which is much smaller forum than this one) was getting close by the comments they were making but didnt NAME the problem yet. The answer: He purported to "teach" a "tactical reload" but he was really showing...- Erick
