      Unfortunately, the 500 barrel is not compatible with the 930. (pump vs semi) @jr88 that is good info. I thought maybe it was discontinued. Yea, I signed up for the email notifications with Mossberg and several other resellers. I guess I just have to wait :)

      I have an old 930 SPX with the 18.5" barrel and standard stock. I would like to get a longer barrel for it as I am just getting into Sporting Clays/Trap/Skeet, and I do not want to invest in a better shotgun just yet. Does anyone know of a source for the 28" barrel (new or used)? I found one...

      Pistol shooting with aging eyes.

      You just need longer arms... :P I am in the same boat.. without glasses, the front sight is blurry... with reading glasses (+1.75), the front sight is crystal clear, but everything beyond the front sight is blurry.. I picked up a RMR Red-Dot and it works just fine for me and my old eyes...

      Takedown pin detent and problematic lowers

      With a full length 'detent rod', you would have to remove/loosen the back plate every time you wanted to separate the upper from the lower. Look closely at the slot in the take down pin.. there are deeper holes on the ends, where normally, the detent would be pushed into by the spring, so that...
