Target shooting in backyard? (Map attached - Carroll County)

Yes, he knew the info already. Was not his first request. But I did get it in writing (E-mail) and also sent the plan for the personal shooting range for approval. And then sent pics of the actual range when done for his record, and he even took it to the MSP Easton Commander for their info...

Target shooting in backyard? (Map attached - Carroll County)

Talbot Co is where I am, and I talked to the local Sheriff and he stated that he and the DA have reviewed the laws and the hunting setback only applies to hunting, not target shooting. So I built a shooting range with railroad ties, with 18 tons of dirt behind it, so far no issues. On just...

What makes an HBAR an HBAR?

HBAR stands for heavy barrel. During the US involvement in Vietnam and the M16 was introduced, they made a prototype of the M16 called the M16 HBAR which actually meant it was in 7.62x51 AKA .308. It took the same capacity magazines as its 556 brother of 20 rounds. HBAR just mainly means a heavy...

What makes an HBAR an HBAR?

From Quora: The most common interpretation of “HBAR” is “Heavy BARrel”, sometimes called a “bull barrel” or “target barrel”. It’s most commonly seen as a marking on the AR-15 family of rifles, on specific models designed for high medium-range accuracy (300–500 yards) where it refers to a...

      Carrying CCW and gun registered?

In Maryland with an HQL and valid Handgun Permit, does the gun you carry have to be registered. It is not stolen and has a serial # so a real, legit handgun, but one you have owned for a long time and never registered. Is this valid? I have tried to do searches and could not seem to...

Just an exercise to show the issues with MD's carry laws.

I know this is an older post, but seems to be a good one. To clarify a few points. I have a combination lockbox under my drivers seat. I have a Business Limitation on the back of my MD Handgun Permit. So if I am not sure I will be conducting business (buying books, collectibles, products)...

Man charged even though he had CCW in MD

The problem I see, is that Williams said he confronted the man looking at vehicles and with a knife I was taught to never be the aggressor and only act when YOU are at threat

Wear & Carry Permit Rules for Gun Placement?

Glad this was brought up. Just to clarify, if you have business right on Wear/Carry Permit Can you have a combination lock box, affixed say underneath a seat, with revolver and your CASH for purchasing items. So handgun would not always be on your person, but in vehicle. Also for times, when...

      Gun shops in cambridge area

I was in the Cambridge area yesterday, so.... I went to both the recommended stores to check them out. Went to Peninsula Pawn (in the old Florist store location), outside of Cambridge, about 3 miles. They actually had a few decent handguns, and reasonable prices. Were even will to haggle some...

      PRIvate sale help

I did a DE to MD buy, Buyer brought the gun to my FFL (not a major distance thing, since only one state away). FFL did all the paperwork, and wait period, and then I picked it up. Normal HQL or other requirements in play. I am also a Designated Collector. I love handguns. And even...

I had to a FTF at the Easton barracks, which luckily for me, is only about 4 miles from my house. Had about an hour in person Interview, very cordial, professional, and went well. I submitted mine in July 2017 and got my W&C Handgun Permit in Nov 2017. I am a business.
