      I use thorntails on my carbines with surefire m600's. Its a great setup, it frees up some rail space and keeps the light in a better position to employ.

      Given the current situation with ammo. I would most likely go with a shotgun and pistol course. That was a class I really enjoyed!! Plus many of us use a shotgun and a handgun for our home defense go to's.
