Stupid AR scope question
You want to line the end of the bell of the scope to the back end of the rail. You might need a cantilever mount to do so. I use the LaRue SPR 1.5, but there are cheaper options, such as the above mentioned PEPR. I also put the medium BCM charging handle on it, but if the scope is mounted in... -

I wouldn't bother going through the hassle of getting a suppressor in a plinking caliber. I'd either go .300 or .45. At least a 200gr+ subsonic bullet can be put to use on something besides paper. -

Handgun Cleaning
I don't clean my guns after every trip to the range, but I keep a range towel in a plastic bag with some Ballistol on it and wipe them off right after I use them, and I'll at least stick a mop or snake down the barrel with some Ballistol when I get home. -
Pistol...300 AAC vs. 10mm
I know these are very different rounds/firearms, but I am having a hard time deciding what to buy. I keep having an urge to buy a DD4 .300 pistol. I don't have a pistol in rifle caliber. I have a couple pre-ban AR-15 rifles, and a 5.56 pistol doesn't appeal to me, but the 300 actually seems... -

On a side note, when I applied for my HQL, in order to be exempt from the training portion, I had to submit the brand, make, barrel length and serial number of one of my handguns....so is MD keeping track of barrel length in their hand gun registry? -
Rimfire scope thoughts
I've been using the Weaver Rimfire 4x28 for years. I recently switched it from my .22 to my Ruger 77/357 and it's held up to over 500 magnum rounds so far. It's a bit more expensive, but is well built and only weighs 8.5 oz.
