Sorry if I am repeating what others have said, but another option is to get a Glock 23 .40 cal (identical in size to a 19) and then get a 9mm barrel conversion kit. Essentially you'll get 2 guns in one.
Just wait until more states adopt per gun and per round taxes. Illinois and some other municipalities have already adopted these "gun taxes." Even if guns/ammo are still legal, if they are taxed heavily enough, they will become a privilege for only the wealthy
as far as I know the security clearance is totally separate from the CC permit. The security clearance is through the Fed. gvt, while the cc permit is through the Maryland State police.
