      Moving out of Maryland

      Hey. I just moved to NC last yr for school from dc. You don't have to register anything. You can open carry with no license. To purchase handguns you have to get a pistol purchase permit in your county of residence. Any thing else you can just walk in and buy.

      Here's my timeline for my recent add on Ordered gun- 5/7 MPD received gun- 5/12 Appointment for registration- 5/14 Registration completed- either 5/22 or 5/26 Appointment for pickup- 6/3

      Lol crazy thing is I just called and my registration has been completed. I'm not sure if it was today or Friday as I called early Friday morning but either or it took about a week and a half. I registered on the 14th. Have an appointment next Week to pick it up.

      He called when it got there the next day but thats only probably because I called him when he got it from usps because I had included their number instead of my personal number on the order just incase the gun store had to contact them for anything since its all new.       Hey. So apparently, usps doesn't deliver to mpd. They have a designated mail person from mpd who goes to the post office everyday to get their mail. My package last Monday said no one was avaliable to sign and Tuesday magically it said it was delivered and signed for. I would go up to the post...

      I got lucky and got an appointment the day after they got my pistol. I had to keep calling around to figure things out because i had no clue the post office doesn't deliver to that building. My first purchase was via ups and sent to Sykes. A guy canceled and they slid me in the next morning...

      Moving to MD Need Advise

      This. I just transferred and play football at a college in nc and now I will be moving down there permanently. Cant deal with the crazy laws of dc and md.

      According to what I was told by them over the phone yesterday is that now they have up to 60 days to do the registration. But he said it normally takes 2 weeks after your initial day of registering. Again though there is no mandate nor anything online stating this new 60 day policy.

      Its been well over 10 days. I purchased the gun back in November I just hadn't gotten around to be able to go to Sykes and I thought I was going to get a ccw but I'm moving to nc in august so I decided not to.
