I was quite surprised to see a fair selection of long guns at the new Super Wallyworld on Quarterfield Rd. They had about 5 or 6 different 22's, 3 or 4 shotguns and few other larger caliber rifles.

No need to discuss whether we would or wouldn't buy from Wal Mart; we've beat that horse a hundred times over......I just find it to be a positive thing thatat least some NEW Wal Mart stores in Maryland are being set up to sell long guns.

They "upgraded" the Lexington Park Wal-Mart to a Super Duper Wally World, and in the process added a new gun section with a pretty big permanent long gun display case that is always fairly well stocked. At least at that Wal-Mart it appears that long guns are a permanent fixture for the foreseeable future.

How cool would it be if you could go to walmart pick up some soda, underwear and a new glock.

Walmart doesn't get any of my business any more. Their overseas practices, illegal door nazis, and getting rid of guns in most stores has done it for me. They are my ever-growing blacklist.:)

And I thought I was the only one who despised the receipt-checking door nazis. ;)

That, plus the absurd and annoying PA messages every 10 minutes telling their imaginary "security camera operator" to "scan and record section 7" made me cut my spending at WM by 80%.

I can't honestly say I have totally boycotted Wal Mart, but their intrusive and insulting attitude towards their customers has made me avoid them whenever possible. Plus, I used to go there every few weeks just to check out what new guns they might have gotten in - trips where I would always end up spending a few bucks in their sporting goods department, even if I rarely ever bought a gun there.

I could care less about their overseas practices, politics, etc.. - if they have low ammo prices i am going there

If you guys are so worried about their overseas practices, you better start looking up the other stores you shop at - they all get their stuff from the same factories.

HEH...Illegal door Nazis. I just walk by them, and pay them no mind. Every time I leave walmart, in the distance I hear sir...sir!! I need to look at your receipt...Sir?!?

I can't wait until the day they try to physically stop me, or god forbid put their hands on me. Maybe one of their employees being arrested for assault and battery would force at least the Aberdeen store to eliminate the goon squad...

I already had an "incident" at Best Buy about 15 years ago when one of their fat ass door security guards tried to stop me walking out the door after he had just watched me pay CASH for a CD. He grabbed me by the shoulder after I walked by him and pretended that I didn't hear his rude demand that I stop and let him check my tiny bag. I gave him a forearm to the head and a left hook to his giant tummy. He dropped and gagged in full view of about 50 of my shocked fellow consumers. I used the confusion to escape (run) to my bike and get the F outta there. Just one of many "incidents" from my younger, angrier days.

I don't know why, but when I read that the first thing that came to mind was this:

I stopped by yesterday to see what they had and I needed to buy some 45. I held my nose and bought 300 rounds of 45 there bc I needed it fast and it was a better deal than Bass Pro. I also noticed they had a Beretta 390 12 gauge there for a little over $500. Since when did Wally World move up in class? BTW they did not copy my ID for the ammo or write any of my info down.
