Welp, they are closing up shop.

Dear Tap House patrons and friends,
It is with a mix of sadness and frustration that we inform you about the impending closure of Dan's Restaurant & Tap House. Our journey, filled with cherished memories and loyal patrons like you, has unfortunately been marred by recent events.
Facing unforeseen challenges, both financial and legal, we have been pushed to the brink. The weight of unjust accusations and mounting legal costs have taken a toll on our ability to continue operating. Despite our unwavering dedication to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all, we have been unjustly targeted.
We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to our loyal staff, suppliers, partners, and community who have stood by us through thick and thin. Your support has meant the world to us, and we will forever be grateful for the relationships we have built.
On Saturday June 3rd, we invite you to join us for a final gathering to celebrate the moments we've shared, to raise a glass to courage in the face of adversity, and to bid a final farewell to Dan's.
Although this journey may be ending, we refuse to let unjust accusations define us. We refuse to compromise the values we hold close to our hearts. We will rise from this setback, determined to pursue new ventures and opportunities that align with our values. Stay connected with us through social media, as we will share updates about our future endeavors.
To all those who have supported us, we extend our deepest gratitude. Your loyalty, laughter, and cherished memories will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Thank you for being part of our story and for allowing us to be a part of yours. The road may be long and filled with unjust obstacles, but in the end love will win.
    Sincerely,
The Dan's Tap House family, 2023

...and lawsuits. In this instance it sounds like the "multiple" lawsuits had a substantial impact as well--

I don't agree with cancelling someone/thing, you know, take away their livelihood for their beliefs. Boycotting is something else. If someone doesn't want my business I'm happy to not give it to them.

    Agreed.

In a free society, we are able to pick and choose to whom we give are money, for whatever reason. It's as simple as that. Any business I avoid is a personal choice, and unless asked, I keep it to my self.

In the case(pun intended) of Butt Wipe, they brought this whole thing on themselves. They naively under estimated how sick and tired of all this trans bulshit the general public is. They also miss understood where their patronage is based.

This should stand as a warning to all corporations, either woke or planning to go woke. There was no massive call for a boycott of Butt Wipe. It was completely spontaneous.

I read "wah, not fair. Hmmph".

Not trying to be any more of a dick than I usually am but that reads both well-written in parts and victimy in others. I get it, if they are right it is terrible - and the US is overly litigious, but heartfelt and whining don't pair well. One or the other IMO.

I guess they never heard the phrase "know your client". Same as Target and Bud Light, now they're finding out who their clients really are. Or were, now that they've driven them off.
