Just craziness… only bright side is if you get a permit b4 10/1/23 you are exempt until renewal. Giving the courts time to work. Sounds like this is going to be a nightmare for LEOs.

We prefer diners, especially at breakfast time. Not sure I have seen a local diner that doesn't sell booze.

Concealed is concealed. I’ve waited my entire adult life for the “right” to go to training classes, pay fees, and subject myself to more background checks. I finally got a permit in this god forsaken state and I’m going to use it until it expires. Unless they’re patting me down or there’s a metal detector at the door I’m gonna exercise my right.

I'll hold off reading it until after Sine Die. The language still isn't final, and regardless of the specifics I'm writing to my MGDA representatives asking them to vote against it while I send more $ to MSI.

I am not clear as to what this caveat refers to.

    Does not:

-Affect permits retroactively. Only applies from 10/1/2023 onward to new applications and renewals.

Ok so what does this last line mean? They must be figuring some parts will be shot down.

”A severability clause in the bill protects the law as a whole should any part of it be struck as unconstitutional”

Only the parameters for obtaining a permit, not the restrictions on carrying.

    I won't read it

Lot's of 'I only go to restaurants without alcohol', and 'I only go to exempt events'

To quote Steve Buscemi in Reservoir Dogs: "Fvck all that."

I feel bad for the restaurants that will no longer get my business

    4. Special Purpose Areas (private or public ownership included)
-a location licensed to sell or dispense alcohol or cannabis for on-site consumption (most restaurants).
    -a stadium
    -a museum
-a location being used for an “organized sporting or athletic activity” where three or more individuals are competing in a sport or athletic activity together as part of the same league. Exception is made for sporting activities which customarily involve firearms
-a location being used for a live theater performances
-a location being used for musical concerts or performances for which members of the audience are required to pay or possess a ticket to be admitted
-a location being used for a fair or carnival
    -racetracks
-video lottery facilities, including casinos and a faclity with terminals for any game of chance, as defined in § 9-1A-01 of the State Government Article
-within 100 yards of a place where a public gathering, demonstration, or an event that requires a permit from the local governing body is being held, if signs posted by a law enforcement agency conspicuously and reasonably inform members of the public that the wearing, carrying, and transporting of firearms is prohibited

Looks like the only ones who will be able to go anywhere with any semblance of protection will be actors and politicians with private or govt sanctioned ARMED protectors.

Just think how brazen the real criminals will be as they prey upon Casino patrons leaving with their winnings, not that they don't already do this.

“-any private property location which is posted conspicuously or after being notified by the owner or owner’s agent that the wearing, carrying, or transporting a firearm is prohibited on the property. “

Would a no guns sign at, say, Whole Foods have the force of law?
