I wonder how they'd view MD's scheme of requiring 16 hours of training for the initial license, plus 8 hours every 2 years, factoring in the permit and training costs?
Not to mention the state passing this law after Woollard.
That may be the next case, down the road. First order of business is SB1, when it is enacted

I foresee a day very soon when some blue state or states decide to push back against the SCOTUS and pass and enforce any gun control law they wish and flip the bird to the court...Honestly what could be done? The court is in no position to do much about it...
That would be the end of the union. This is entirely possible.

Biden would not do as Eisenhower did in Little Rock and put guns to the head of the nationalized Arkansas National Guard.

    Don't tempt them
Well they’re going to be tempted no matter what at this point.
It’s just what possible law could they pass to accomplish their objective (less public carry) and still have it be constitutional?
IMO they’re basically maxed out. Anything else they could add would get more and more ridiculous and would be smacked down quickly.

I agree. They played their whole hand.

I hinted at it in another thread , they have one more avenue , that they already touched upon , but seems to not be their main effort ... This year .

It's further restrictions on Firearm Possession , but that would also indirectly reduce Carry .

That should go well for them in court.

Well , not to the extent they would try , but they could hypothetically probably get some incremental changes to stick .

    When?

It takes n months just for the suit to be heard, m months for delays due to responses, x months for a decision, and that's just at district. Multiply by 3 for circuit, en banc, SCOTUS.

By then, how much private money has been wasted? Not to mention possible arrests and convictions, fines, guns confiscated. And no penalty to the state other than letting the person out of jail.

Yes, cynic is my middle name, but its well founded by a system designed to be against free men.

I’m certainly aware of the time frames. Hopefully TROs and PIs will be the word of the day. This all needs to happen, and we may as well get it out of the way now.

Yes, I agree, but at some point time starts running out so it becomes time to get out.

There's many reasons to give up on this state, anti-2A sh*t being one of them - perhaps the biggest indicator as to the suitability of all the other state policies (crime increase, tax increase, etc)

I fully expect a state who looses in court to the change the sentences of simple crimes to carry 2 years and 1 day in jail. Littering, 2 years one day, jaywalking 2 years one day. No one would ever get sentenced to it, but it would still be disqualifying.
