Ah, I see. Just to clarify, I agree that SB 1 is not otherwise lawful, at least in its present form. And MSI will most certainly challenge SB 1 in court should the current form be enacted into law. I just don't believe that there is a reasonable chance that I will prevail on OC, so I will challenge other parts of SB 1 that are unlawful, including specifically, the sensitive places parts. I will need named plaintiffs for each of the sensitive places and that person must be willing to swear under oath that 1. they are are a permit holder. 2. that they have frequented location X, Y, Z sensitive place in the past with their carry permit, and 3. that they fully intend to frequent X, Y Z places in the future with their carry permit and are now barred from doing so by SB1. Now, if X, Y, Z were previously a GFZ under a regulation, then step 2 is that he/she frequented XYZ in the past without their carry permit and fervently desire to go there with their carry permit and intend on doing so. Please email me directly at mpennak@marylandshallissue.org. if you want to be a plaintiff. Time to stand up and be counted, just as Stoveman did in the bump stock case. SB1 is a legislative priority so odds are good that it will be enacted in some form. Once enacted, we will then have a list of sensitive places. Again, I need at least one named plaintiff for each sensitive place, but the more places a plaintiff can cover the better. And they need to be MSI members or be willing to immediately become MSI members.
Mark you know I've been chomping at the bit to be a plaintiff for a long time. You just tell me how high I need to jump

Outstanding. Let's wait until we see what is enacted. Then I will need an email with your full legal name, full work and home addresses, which "sensitive place" you can address, e.g., how often you went to X in the past and how often you will go to X in the future. Your info will be public in the complaint (no john doe plaintiffs) so consider carefully any collateral consequences of publicly being a plaintiff like impact on employment and the like.

This is the Judicial Proceedings Committee VOTING SESSION to potentially amend SB-1 and ultimately to vote the bill out of committee with either a “favorable” or “unfavorable” recommendation.

If you haven’t watched this local news video note here that a Maryland LAWYER who is ALSO a LEGISLATOR (TWO oaths sworn) LIES to the public when he whines that the Bruen decision allows anyone to carry any gun anywhere, anytime:

With States going full-bore crazy on tightening up their anti 2A laws, Bruen will lead to the SCOTUS taking on these new laws to finally say that open carrying is OK in all but a very few places and that "shall not be infringed" means just that.

Actually, I shook his hand and thanked him for his work in the MoCo case. I also appreciate the work he has done in the legislature and the future work he will do in regards to the MGA bills. Moreover, I joined MSI recently at the Howard County Show. You all will probably recognize my email address easily if you look at your books.

I know there is a lot of sh!t posting on this page about MSI and somehow I think mine was taken out of context but hey, I'll play along.

Please explain how you think that SB1 is an otherwise lawful, shall-issue statute. I'm not sure it is from what I have read and from Mark arguing before the legislature that it wasn't. I would be intrigued to hear how I'm wrong unless the legislature substantially changed the bill since the third update on your website. I'm pretty sure that MSI wouldn't be considering suing if it was a lawful statute.

I'm pretty sure we're on the same side and not opposing sides as it appears to me that you think I am. I support MSI, joined, and have given money multiple times. I even have had your stickers on my range ammo can for at least a decade.
See the bolded above, no need to play along.

Armed citizen stopped two suspects involved in a police shooting in Wicomico, MD this morning. Seems fitting that the day more SB1 BS is happening this good example of why W&C is good goes down.

It might be worth checking a map to see if where GGWAG was, was within a no-go zone under SB-1 and passing that information to one of the friendly members of the JPC.

Porter Mill Road is where he caught them, I’ll have to check a map to see.

I'd caution as to see how he "stopped" them at 1230 a.m., 2 hours after the shooting. Was he out walking the dog, or did he go out looking for them? Did he see them, call the police and go out and approach them at gun point? Did they try breaking into his house?
Would certainly make a difference as to how it went down. Because going out to "help the police" isn't a form of self defense.

Pretty important I think because it may not be worth presenting at all depending on how it went down.

That’s a very good point. Changes things if he was out looking for the suspects for sure. Unfortunately it didn’t specify how he came about coming in contact with them but I’m definitely curious to hear how it happened.

Could you share where you are obtaining this info about this W & C Permit holder involvement?
