Ferguson, Waldstreicher, Smith et al. didn’t feign offense to the yellow 2A stars because they are an inappropriately hijacked religious symbol - they are not. They got their panties in a bunch because the stars analogized and equated their actions to true tyrants, and that message hit center mass. The feigned offense is nothing more than an effort to escape that otherwise appropriate label.
