if I were Kyle, I’d argue that skaterboi shot himself.

pulling on a rifle barrel, attached via 1 point sling . And pulling it directly aimed at yourself. a person holding that rifle is going to try try to hold it, and can be expected to be on the grop and trigger.

and skaterboi pulled the rifle and the trigger

I think the legality of Kyle’s shootings will be extremely difficult thing to challenge. Apparently, the legality of his being armed with the rifle is not in question. He was in mortal danger, and defended himself flawlessly.

I know some on here regard Rittenhouse as a hero of some sort. I look at him as a guy who violated the rule of 4 S's who's going to pay--one way or another--for the rest of his life.

Reminds me of someone else (local) many of us have been discussing of late.

    Right back at ya.

But I suspect from a recent visit to a local gun show that most gun owners would have a heart attack digging said foxhole, let alone fighting from one, so I'm not worried about sharing one with anyone.

Rittenhouse (and Zimmerman. and Andy) are living proof that sometimes the process IS the punishment. These lawsuits will probably go nowhere, but he has to pay more attorneys and incur other costs throughout.

The thought of bankrupting myself and my family for such endeavors is.....I don't even have the word. Ridiculous comes to mind.

Rule #1 If you're not in trouble, don't go looking for it.
That is generally a very good rule. However, evil flourishes when good men do nothing. With evil being all around us, it is time that good men started doing something.

I hope to see the day when a statue of KR is placed in DC as a reminder to corrupt politicians that the citizens eventually will take it upon themselves to save their fellow man and this country.

He was a crusader. In my opinion, his actions were ill advised. He took on a role he was unequipped to fulfill. The outcome bore this out.

I admire his bravery, his honoring of civic duty. I was pulling for a not guilty on all counts verdict. In the end, me made little difference.

I think this suit is complete bulshit. I pray he wins.

No need to worry about Rittenhouse bankrupting himself. Apparently he is dirt broke already. Squeezing blood from a stone. Maybe someday he'll get a payout from some of the folks he is intending on suing.

For what it's worth...the man stepped up where few others would. Respect for that. Managing to successfully fight off multiple attackers without shooting any of the numerous "innocents" around him? Serious respect. He did better than I suspect most trained folks would do.

I'm pretty sure statues of white men have been banned.

The father of Anthony Huber, one of two men shot and killed by Rittenhouse, filed the lawsuit in 2021, accusing officers of allowing for a dangerous situation that violated his son's constitutional rights and resulted in his death. Anthony Huber's father, John Huber, also alleged that Rittenhouse, who was 17 at the time of the shootings, conspired with law enforcement to cause harm to protestors. John Huber is seeking unspecified damages from city officials, officers and Rittenhouse.

U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman on Wednesday dismissed motions filed by Rittenhouse and the government defendants seeking to dismiss the civil rights lawsuit.

In allowing the case against Rittenhouse and the others to proceed, the judge said that Anthony Huber's death “could plausibly be regarded as having been proximately caused by the actions of the governmental defendants.”
Same Jurist community that found Rittenhouse not guilty of murder ... is the same community that will hear this lawsuit ... Why would the result be any different ?

    When the police failed,
    When the politicians failed,
    When the courts failed,

Amen! With the usual suspects rolling by to explain how ultimately "bad" Rittenhouse was... "Above all, NEVER stand up against tyranny, it could be DANGEROUS..."

Jefferson to Madison and Franklin "I'm not on board with this,,, I don't want to screw up the rest of my life"

Is this the father of the pedophile or skateboard dude?

Either way it's pretty clear on video from the trial Kyle was being attacked. I can't imagine this trial going anywhere?

Gee, I wonder if Kyle could successfully sue the guys who attacked him. After all, their actions caused Kyle to defend himself and alter his life forever. Nobody would have been shot if they hadn't attacked him.

Okay, but just remember, when you're busy "can't imagining", this is in Amerika, circa. 2023, when it's no longer about facts, it's more about who the case gets put in front of, and what agenda the judge is trying to further...

I don't think it is going to be easy to prove that Kyle "conspired" with police based on a very limited number of casual contacts before he was attacked. It is even a stretch to claim police conspired with a very loosely organized group of non-rioters protecting businesses.

Where is this trial going to be? I don't think they will find a jury sympathetic to rioting arsonists.

It could be that old man Huber doesn't actually want this to go to trial - it could be he's looking for a cash-grab settlement out of court with the idea that the city will pay him to make it go away.

What I don't think he's factoring is that the tide has turned and things are no longer in favor of BLM'ers - I agree that finding a sympathetic jury is going to be challenging.
