I’ve been saving it to put on a higher magnification/ more featured scope on it and go from there with it. But I’m just not wanting to spend the money on that right now. I’ve had the rifle almost two years! So I put this Bushnell Engage 3x9 onto it I had gotten more recently and had laying around. I had taken it off of another rifle project to switch mounts, etc. but got sidetracked.

Savage 110 Tactical 6.5 Creedmoor, 140g Hornady Match. I was able to dial it in pretty good at 300 yds.

The stock has interchangeable comb and length of pull inserts. That’s fairly cool but the securement isn’t that great. I might need to look into that some more at another time.

Be careful man, that shit is addictive. Pretty soon you have a safe full of precision rifles with the glass to go with them and a bunch of support equipment too.

Thanks! I’ll try. I do have a fairly threatening set of equipment already that could easily be augmented even further to support it.

    Haha. You get hooked quick.

Try some of the Berger 140 hybrids in that baby. Or the Prime 130 hybrid load. I don't own a creedmoor barrel personally but I've seen those loads absolutely hammer out of multiple rigs I've had a hand in setting up.

To tighten up the stock fidgety issues, once you get the LOP where you want it, wax the screws (in case you need to take them out ever) and.epoxy the spacers together, then sand them smooth. Depending on how the cheek piece is attached, you can add pins/epoxy to index and secure or you can install it with potted neodymium magnets if it needs to be removed for proper bore guide access.

I picked up the Savage 110 Elite Precision in 223 Rem last year (want to do a conversion to 6.5 Grendel at some point and it's a good starting point).

Have to say, I was initially turned off by the price, but the MDT chassis is rock solid and has more than sold me on the Savage action.

Cool. Frontier day at peacemaker (practice on the mountain) is this coming Saturday I think. Another one scheduled for March 4.

Several members on here regularly attend. And yes, shooting 223 to over a grand is doable with the right bullets! Just did it last week with 85.5 bergers in the 223 bolt gun I put together for my buddy/former coworker. Then shot a 3" group at 475yds. Just say your prayers to the god of the skies for fair winds.

Please do your rifle a favor and get rid of that scope as soon as you can afford a better one. Your rifle will thank you for it. :D

I like Berger Bullets. They have great customer support. I like the 70g VLDs in my Match AR.

I run their 88 flat bases and 105 hybrids (when I can find them) in my 6br. Played with their 155s in my 308 but I have literally shot out barrels using sierra 2156s so I sort of stick to them for reasons of inertia.

Paging squaregrouper for the story of "el cheapo"!!!!!
I was just about to post about that...
TC Compass in 6.5 Manbun/Creedmoor- $229 after rebate w/FFL transfer
    Trigger spring upgrade- $20
    Vortex Copperhead 4-12x44- ~$125
    Generic rings- $19
    CV Life bipod- $20
Banging steel at 1200yds for ~$400 all in.
    .
I praised this rifle as a $400 wonder, and many assumed that at the price point it had to be garbage. They're no longer made and now are going for what they should have sold for in the first place.
More than a handful of MDS members have shot "EL Cheapo" and agree it is a hell of a gun for the price point.

IMHO- The thing to be learned with "El Cheapo" is one doesn't need to dump >$2000 to get into precision rifle shooting (PRS). It can be done for ~$7-800. No, you won't have the results of those with $4000 rigs, but "El Cheapo" surely turned heads amongst the high dollar rig guys.

Thanks! The waxing of the screws has done the trick. I took it apart to make sure the holes weren't cracked or something. I used a crayon for the wax. My one regret was afterwards I saw that the crayon was made in China.

I made a pull through patch holder out of nylon weed whacker line. I'll provide pictures of that later. My selected comb blocks a rigid cleaning rod from going straight in so I've been experimenting with making cleaning rods that are somewhat flexible. It looks like all the long ones out there have handles, whereas I like to run the rod in one direction and al the way out the muzzle.

I like the magnet idea. I could probaly make a magnettically attacheable one with the provided pieces. Ooooor, take one and modify it by adding a completely custom made item

I'm a precision rifle snob so take my opinions with a grain of salt and a.shot of penicillin.

I only clean with a quality rod and bore guide. I also scope my barrels regularly.

I've scoped enough barrels to see the damage that poor cleaning equipment/technique can do. I have to pay for my own stuff so I really don't want to damage it without a reason.

Do you clean chamber to muzzle?

What was your best 300 yard group?
It is the one just under the orange bullseye. I'm just saying that because it's the smallest. There's 4 (3) shot groups on there in the picture. The other stuff is from shooting my 602 replica previous to the 110.
