I sent an email to msp about carrying a magazine above 10 rounds because there has not been much clear guidance about carrying more then 10 rounds. With in 1 day msp replied to my question. here is their repl.

    What BS
You post a question with the effing answer by the governing body. It’s a dead end. Nothing to see here move along.

I am so glad that, after seeing 17 threads stating this, someone feels like their question is answered. If only one could trust MSP's guidance...

Did you happen to ask if it was ok to drive your truck with over 10 gallons of gas in the tank?

I can't find anything in MD law that says it's ok...

The officer who searched my console the other day didn't seem to mind the 2 33 round G17 mags and 4 15 round G19 Mags.

I doubt she asked the MSP Gun Center if my mags were legal when she called in my permit.

No, the question should be, why did you ask a question of MSP that has been asked of MSP numerous times since 2013, and discussed and answers shared in these forums almost as many times?

I have not seen an email from msp actually saying one can. I have seen lots of people’s opinions and hear say. I know people that will not carry more then 10 rounds. Several local police officers i have talked to could not answer about carry standard capacity magazine.
so now you know why I asked tell us why the popo was going trough your car

IIRC ... Large capacity magazines are not illegal to possess ... They are illegal to sell in the State of Maryland and cannot be purchased on the internet to be shipped to MD ... It is legal to travel out of state and purchase these high capacity magazines and bring them back with you. Please correct me if I am wrong !

There is no universal listing in the law of everything you CAN do , only what you Can't .

The only thing addressed in the statutes regarding use/ carry of standard capacity magazines , is if used in commission of a violent crime , it is an add on charge .

State Statute make no mention that you can't, therefore it's legal.

I have seen lots of people’s opinions and hear say.
The above has been discussed adnauseum since 2013, and in the past 6 months at least 4 times. Hell, there was even a play by play of the MSP 1st Sgt saying it was legal on a zoom call with a leading 2A advocate in Maryland. If you want to call that hearsay, then that's on you.

I know people that will not carry more then 10 rounds.
That's on them for not understanding the law, and that anything not prohibited in State Statute, is legal. (just like you)

Several local police officers i have talked to could not answer about carry standard capacity magazine.
You expect local LEOs to actual know all of Maryland's laws?? Dreamer.

so now you know why I asked tell us why the popo was going trough your car
    Wasn't my vehicle.
