Maryland just keeps pushing honest law abiding citizens out with this crap. The 5 minute move across to King George is looking better and better.

VA is shaping up to be even worse than MD. You aren't safe anywhere any more. Even Texas is starting to look purple'ish.

Yea just have to be within 90-120 minutes max of MoCo, leaving there would be dumb with the salary and retirement benefits lol
Just west of Winchester in Hampshire County (WV) are some nice areas, though that property (the decent lots/locations) are getting more expensive by the minute. Still, that's about an hour and a half's drive into MoCo, if you really can tolerate that radius. Depending on the traffic, you'll spend closer to two hours, with at least half an hour of that being on the beltway within a couple miles of the Legion Bridge. If you can make the drive off-peak, it goes pretty quickly. Quicker still if you don't mind ponying up for use of the Toll Road and the Dulles Greenway to get up to Leesburg on your way yonder.

Those are both options I've looked at, keep in mind I report to work by 0600, so I [generally] miss traffic.
Just look out for Deputy Reynolds of Loudon County, who knows all the good speed trap spots along 7. He's very perky at 06:00. Um, or so I hear ... :-)

There are a couple of guys in your department that live out in Louden County, VA, one of them does OT in the Communications shop working on radios.

Not to side track the thread too much, but Falling Waters or Shepherdstown, WV may be good options and are well within that range. Both closer to 60 minutes in non-rush hour traffic.
