Who needs the US Constitution anymore if we don't have 2A? Yuppie women and sissy men are here today because of the sacrifices the founding fathers of this country made. These people will keep pushing until they see the USA turning into Cuba, Venezuela, or South Africa. Then they will lose everything that they think they deserve. They think that their luxury SUV, their big fancy house, and their comfortable lifestyle will be around forever while they espouse libtard policies.

I did not read the bill, but will guess that it was someone from Sante Fe Taos, Albuquerque or Las Cruces who introduced it. Having lived their for a while, in Grant County, I can say that it was my experience that R's and D's believe in 2A. Other counties are the same, especially those right on the border. Any state rep from these counties who votes for this would not be welcomed in their home district.

They watched the Taco restaurant shooting video in Texas and felt that obviously 9 was the right number...

still remember seeing the tactical teams looking for that one boston marathon bombing loser, each member loaded to the gills with ar's, multiple 30 round mags and handguns and spare mags. if we need all that to go after one unarmed punk, surely little ol' me should be able to have a couple of ar's and handguns and regular capacity mags.

This nonsense is getting out of hand. Its like what legislature can out do the other. SCOTUS was complaining that they haven't looked at 2A cases in a longtime. Well it looks like that will be all they are doing in the next couple of years.

Any mag capacity limit is bad enough, but 9 rounds? There are a gazillion 10 round mags in production right now, but 9?

I read somewhere it's introduced by the same person year after year, evidently whatever was last year didn't even get past committee and was also really watered down compared to whatever this trash is

I'm picturing a committee discussion that went something like this...

"You hear of that Maryland thing, the 10 round mags?"
    "Yeah, sure... 10 round mags."
"Well this is going to blow that right out of the water. Listen to this: 9 round mags..."
