We didn’t learn anything we didn’t already know. I’m glad he’s confident the Senate will pass this. I don’t see any proof that the remaining Repubs and 9 Dems are on board.

    Thanks for the link anyway.

Not making fun, but what else could he say?

He introduced the bill in the House.

    I hope he's right.

I wish he'd say the Senate is working on the 60th vote and they will put the bill through this year as a standalone or attach it to another piece of legislation. This just makes it seem like no one has any idea what the Senate is up to.

Maybe there is some unwritten rule about House members speaking about bills in the Senate.

They should have had a Senator speak as well.

They have already had 3 chances to attach it to spending bills.

Even had a few bills that the Dems attaches stuff to and would have made sense for republicans to add their riders as well.

    So far nothing.....

They want to be able to talk about how they are all for your rights but don’t want to actually recognize said rights and do anything about it.

Funny how after MD's political crap we have seen this year that this is the most likely explanation.

^ and that is the quintessential example of the neo-con betrayers in the Senate showing their true colors.:mad54:

The R's did control everything a few short years ago and nothing came of it. This will never pass the congress the GOP could have 75 Senators and 350 Reps in the house and this still would have zero chance of passing. The only hope is to attach it to a must pass bill and I still doubt that would happen. The country would be divided up into at least 2 parts before this had a chance to become law.

“Look guys we really care but those darned democrats”

But when they control and actually know they have the ability to pass it, it doesn’t see light of day…….

They don’t actually want to get it passed because they would then need to find a new campaign talking point.

There may be an opportunity for a trade off if the bump stock ban gets knocked down by the courts. That’s assuming the GOP doesn’t just buckle as they always do and give away stuff for nothing.

No more trading. If the court says yes, yes means yes.

It's just a matter of time until "shall not be infringed" means exactly what it says. The other side just needs to keep following their playbook and continue to piss off the judges.

Yep. We have 50 years' worth of bad, mostly unconstitutional, legislation to unroll. We shouldn't be adding to the work the courts have to do over the next few years, just to placate the people who put us in this mess.
