That's the beauty of the political profession. They at free to lie and enact knowingly unconstitutional or defective legislation with absolute impunity.

It's pathetic and disgusting. I regard most of them lower than used boat salesmen, with apologies to used boat salesmen.

That would essentially make “being stupid” a crime. Because while some of these politicians could be said to be doing this crap knowingly and deliberately, they can and do just play dumb.
Let’s be fair, most politicians are not stupid. They know full well exactly what they’re doing and who they’re catering to and the main purpose is to gain more power, get rich, and do whatever they want because the laws they pass are not applied to them.

Attorneys, especially defense attorneys, don’t care about facts, truth, or the law. Only getting around them.

Maybe this will wake people up to what they've created with the Leftist state

No discretion. No warnings. Everyone is ticketed or charged to the absolute extent of every law. License plate bulbs to murder. No discretion.
I think we're going the other way. Cops aren't being proactive anymore. Fewer traffic stops, fewer tickets, fewer arrests.

That's what the voters asked for, that is what they are increasingly getting.

Not posting this to brag or whatever but I’m an existing MSI member and just sent more cash their way.

Everyone needs to do the same. Skip Starbucks or your McGriddle tomorrow and send something. If you don’t think the other f’ed up counties in this state and the legislature at large aren’t watching this, you’re just being silly.

These people hate ‘us’ and if they are reading these posts are probably just giddy with delight on how hopping mad we are.

The thing I can’t shake after going to gun stores and shows over the last few years and observing fellow clientele, the people in my WC class, the number of new minority gun owners I hear asking questions at the shops and making their first purchase, etc. is: Do these jack wagons even know who we really are? We are everyone who values self defense and self sufficiency no matter what race, creed or even gender identity. How does DEI seems to permeate every aspect of our society except 2a? Makes zero sense. But sense is certainly what the signers of this crap law lack.

Donate, it will make you feel a touch better.
    Thank you!

You would know better than I

I know a BCPD detective who said that anything marijuana related is pretty well not enforced anymore. Unless it's some massive dealer bust or something. They never get prosecuted so why bother.

This is the police insight I was looking for. Hence the reason why I missed having a few cops going to my gym.

The behind the scenes you dont ever hear about.

Thank you Spoon and thank God for MSI

Politicians are VERY smart at counting votes. They live to support those policies, no matter how unconstitutional or otherwise outrageous, that will get them reelected. That's it. If a popular position happens to be good policy, wonderful. If there is a conflict, the popular position wins.

Prosecuting attorneys are no better. Their sole concern is getting convictions. Railroading suspects to plea bargains, lying, concealing exculpatory evidence are only some of the tools in their box.

The more I see the less respect I have for the aptly named criminal justice system.

The government has truly earned the disrespect of the people.

    IMO of course.

From my perspective, I have never seen this and don't think it occurs in Montgomery County, but I'm not naive enough to think it doesn't happen. In liberal areas it is a problem the OTHER way, with weak plea deals.

Case in point, I have a trial that was supposed to start tomorrow. Mope got into an argument with a security guard and popped a round at her. We never found the bullet and he shot from inside his car, so i didn't have a shell casing. Security guard was initially cooperative, I got an arrest warrant and locked the dude up. Surprise, convicted felon has a loaded poly80 under the seat of the car.

Listening to jail calls, the suspect is talking to his mommy and sure makes it sound like they got to the victim. Suddenly victim won't cooperate, says she won't testify in court tomorrow. They won't personally serve her and make her come to court. Since they won't do that, they can't get the judge to rule that she is a hostile witness. Since they won't do that, we can't argue that she may have been tampered with and play the suspects jail calls where he alludes to threatening/promising her and we can't play the recorded interview with the victim.

So the first degree assault charge is out the window. We were going to go forward with the trial anyways and talk about the discovery of the gun at the arrest and show social media pictures of the suspect with that gun (and a bunch of others) and a lot of drugs and money.

Instead, rather than putting all that information out there and public record, they accepted a plea this afternoon for prohibited person in possession of a gun. His sentencing guidelines are probation to 2 years. I'm sure he will get a time served punishment of the 6 months he had served pre-trial and walk out of court a free man tomorrow morning.

I would have preferred we took it to trial and showed a judge and jury the real story of this dude. Then when the judge gives him the lenient sentence he was going to give either way, at least if someone FOIAs it, the judge will look bad. Now, none of that will be on the record and nobody will be the wiser.

The revolving door is spinning out of control...
