My son lives in PA near Philly. I would drive up to see him occasionally and not think about it. If I took the back way up, I stayed in MD and PA. Last weekend, I took 95. I didn't think about it. After all, I have the permits for both MD and PA. Well I saw the signs for Delaware and a brief panicked ensued. I was carrying and don't have a DE permit. Luckily for me, I have FLA, which covers me in DE. So I was good, but I was ready to pull over, clear and stow my firearm. My CCW app came to the rescue.
It made me realize that I really need to be careful when traveling with my new reality. A trip I have made many times has taught me to not take things for granted. I have taken 83 most of the times I go there where I stayed within my permit states. I have had my MD and PA since early Aug. So only been carrying almost full time for a few months. Still getting used to the regs and screwed up reprocity laws.

Yup it’s a straight shot from Cecil County into PA using RT1.

Since DE is Open Carry, just put it on your dashboard when you hit the DE line.

It is an important point. Another place to be careful is DC. I have a son in Northern VA. I take Rt. 50 to 495 to 95 South, avoiding DC. But on a few occasions Waze (traffic app), took me through DC I-395. I don't think I'm good in DC.

All the more reason to make sure you have coverage and redundancy in all neighboring states if possible.

Going 50 - 495 - 95 still takes you through DC....
as you cross the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, you are in DC for approximately 300 yards.

It actually goes onland on the VA side of the Potomac. If you walk around Jones Point, there are markers for all three of the boundries DC/MD, DC/VA, MD/VA.

I take the bridge to 301 to get to Wilmington, DE now. It’s that much nicer and takes only 20 minutes longer.

This is a timely topic. I have a place in DE. So what's the best way to get me covered to carry in DE being MD is my primary residence? Do the Utah non resident permit? Should I see about getting an actual DE permit even though my residence there is a second home?

I take the bridge to 301 to get to Wilmington, DE now. It’s that much nicer and takes only 20 minutes longer.

We do the same. Nice and relaxed and, since they put in the Middletown bypass, it is faster than it used to be. Fvch 95.

From what I understand, DE does not issue NR permits, except for 30 days at a time or something. If your legal residence is in MD, you will have to get a NR from somewhere like FLA or one to the other states the DE recognizes. Check Handgunlaw.US to make sure. Check DE's laws to really make sure. I do know they do not accept MD or PA. Someone smarter than me will be along shortly.
Or, change your residency to DE. But that can open up another can of worms.

If you drive like a reasonable person, and your lights are all in working order, there is no reason that you would be stopped.
