Hello, I'm glad to join and be a part of this community.

A little about myself... I was in the Army for about 9 years as a civil engineer (Basically building bridges, driving, and PMCS lol). After that I worked CDL jobs, security jobs, etc... I've never owned a personal weapon. I've always had an on duty weapon. Recently, I put in my application for the HQL so I can purchase my first personal weapon.

I'm not to sure. I'm just familiar with glocks from using it as my service weapon.

    I'm open to ideas though!
I always recommend shooting a bunch of different stuff if you can to help narrow it down. Can't go wrong with a glock though. My cousin had one as a duty weapon and ended up buying one as his first gun because that's what he was familiar with.

I personally went to a shop and held a bunch of different handguns, narrowed it down to 2 based on the feel (H&K VP9 and Walther PPQ), then rented both at a range and ended up going with the VP9.

I will definitely have to go to the range and to experiment.

The H&K VP9 specs and details is amazing. Pricey, but I'm sure it's worth every dime. Thanks for the advice, I'll have to narrow it down.
