I've never understood the hatred for squirrels. Unless you're eating it, seems like an excuse to satisfy bloodlust and kill something, which to me is a little sick.
I do have same compassion for mice and rats. I prefer to use live traps and relocate them as to killing them. Poison should be out right illegal. The mice eat the poison then run off sick some other animals eats the poisonous mouse and gets sick. It could be your house pet that gets sick and dies from a poisoned mouse.I get it but what’s the difference in a squirrel and a rat. Do we have the same compassion toward mice and rats as we do, say a fuzzy bunny or nutty squirrel? We feed mice and rats poison and send them to suffer in some hole in the wall. Takes days for them to die.
THAT IS ONE NICE THING.Yep, pellets don't carry far after penetration. That's what's nice about them.
YEA. YOUR RIGHT. TOUGH CALLI've never understood the hatred for squirrels. Unless you're eating it, seems like an excuse to satisfy bloodlust and kill something, which to me is a little sick.
My custom moderated Macari R9 Tarantula .22 with 16x spring gun scope will go through and through both shoulders of a tree rat at 25 yards....
For comparison, a Remington 30 grain low velocity CB at 730 FPS at the muzzle is super quiet and will go through a squirrel, but also the front and rear walls of a T111 shed. As me how I know, I stopped using it......

Weird. I can understand your hatred for those particular squirrels. They chewed through the wiring on the active shocks on my Raptor, then a month later chewed through wiring in the engine compartment resulting in a no-start condition. They also chewed into the intake cover. That all cost me over $2000. This summer they chewed into wiring on my wife’s Explorer, another $500.
I now have (4) different things positioned to keep them away from my TRX.

It's not even an argument. Much quieter than a pellet gun.Out of my kids 16" savage rascal with my suppressor, I would argue it's quieter then a pellet gun.
Same thing happened to my 4Runner (twice) before i sold it. I finally purchased a car capsule which worked to keep them out. https://carcapsule.com/They chewed through the wiring on the active shocks on my Raptor, then a month later chewed through wiring in the engine compartment resulting in a no-start condition. Hes the guy shooting crossbow bolts into necks. "its just a doe, who cares"So at what point do you start caring? Don't bother answering, just found the Ignore function was for.
I don’t get why anyone would not want to harvest the animals as clean and quickly as possable. They are living breathing things and deserve the respect to not make them suffer any more then needed.Hes the guy shooting crossbow bolts into necks. "its just a doe, who cares"
exactly. Torturing animals with no remorse is how they view hunting. I want it to be instant. I hate watching any animal i shoot squirm even if its for 20 seconds. Knowing i made a bad shot and the animal is walking around for days in misery makes me sick to my stomach and question if i want to keep hunting. I am not the best hunter ever and i do make mistakes but i try as hard as i can to make clean kills. THats our responsibility as hunters. When i have a racoon getting in my trash i dont try and wound it and teach it a lesson, i kill it quick or trap and relocateI don’t get why anyone would not want to harvest the animals as clean and quickly as possable. people with additud like that are the reason there are so many anti hunters.
Hunting is not perfect and we all make bad shot from time to time, that can not be helped. The responsible hunter will track the anima and finish it off as soon as possible. My wife can not stand opossum and shoots everyone she sees to chase it away, but she uses a spring powered airsoft gun with plastic bb. they dont hurt the animals in any way but does make them leave. They run when they see her but if they see me they casually walk away.exactly. Torturing animals with no remorse is how they view hunting. I want it to be instant.
