Mine was submitted Aug 4 --accepted Aug 10-today I got in the mail copy of a letter dated Sept 21 about the criminal background check being clean--so I guess I am getting close--it will be 2 months as of tomorrow--never got a phone call or other communication from them. HQL email came Aug 30

Got the approval email today---so life is good----submitted Aug 4---approval today October 4

i believe that is you app number.. your permit number should on page 7, and start with 0689xx or greater

i got approved yesterday, put my permit number into the hql portal... and my hql was approved today.

that means i can go buy stuff now, right?

I have a buddy doing the permits, and said the clean backgrounds are a breeze but apparently people are applying with crazy records and slowing them down

There a few threads talking about this topic. But yes you can get a non-resident PA permit if you have a valid home state permit.

They do. But not all counties do it. Apply online on the Sheriff's dept website. I know that York and Adams counties do them.

You will receive an email with your HQL letter attached. You’ll need to print the letter and take with you to make purchases. There is also a field on the 77r for you to enter your HQL number.
(Make sure to download the letter and save it. That is all that you get - no card, etc.)
