The MGA was in recess when Bruen was released. The lack of communication about this ruling to LE agency personnel falls squarely on the shoulders of all LE management.

    MSP especially

This goes to show and prove the Maryland legislature AG's office. does not care for its LEOA’s within the state of Maryland. Not to mention it’s citizens.

Im almost inclined to believe they want problems between law abiding citizens and LEO’s.

MSP has a big responsibility to understand and implement state firearm laws and it appears they could care less to do so. The MSP Gun Center is the only resource for LEO’s on patrol to get it right and to ensure citizens who are legitimately permitted to wear and carry are not unduly harassed, arrested or killed.

Maryland officials if your trolling, get your shite together!
    Agreed 97.625%, corrected the rest.

I guarantee you that the police are immediately informed of any additional infringements so they can begin effective enforcement right away.

It's a three way finger pointing circle between the AG , the MSP . and Maryland Police & Correctional Training Commission , all pointing at the other two . And all simultaneously hoping that if they ignore Bruen , it will just go away .

I was at a wedding Saturday night and at the after party was talking to a young MoCo cop (I coached him for many years in baseball) and brought up the OP's incident and asked if he had had any guidance from above post Bruen? His reply - what's a Bruen?

Now to be fair, he's not a gun guy, just a lawman with a gun but he had zero knowledge of the case or it's impact and was completely shocked that nothing had come down from leadership.

That’s kinda sad. Not that he necessarily needs to be a top poster on SCOTUSblog, but LEO should be informed of this stuff.

How can we possibly make them aware? Reach out to sheriff's offices?
Great question. This shouldn’t come from US. It should come from the AG, being the chief LEO. We all know why that hasn’t happened.

UPDATE: I just got off the phone with Corporal Jenkins. Perfect gentleman. Told me that at the time of the traffic stop, the consensus amongst ALL officers on scene was that I was wrong. When they found me to be correct, they had an "Ah..." moment. He did not set by idly and wait for things to happen, he reached out to the A.A.G's office and found that I had already contacted them, and to the A.G. for Worcester County. He informed me that A.A.G. Bowen did, in fact, reach out to the Gun Center and correct them as to manner of carry. Corporal Jenkins told me he was amazed at the speed at which this is all taking place, that notices/bulletins are now going out Statewide to all the agencies throughout Maryland. I told him that A.G Brian Frosh, well-known anti-gunner, should have released bulletins immediately after the Bruen decision, as he knew there would be an onslaught of Wear and Carry applications and that Open Carry would become more prevailant than before. He also said that the broadcast on 102.9FM The Vault was probably due to a call from the Worcester County A.G. I told him that I reached out to OCPD Records to get copies of the body-worn camera and dash camera(if available) video, not as a tool for any type of litigation, but to make sure I didn't make an ass of myself and to spread the word on how one might handle a similar situation. He assured me that I handled the situation perfectly and he was sorry we had to meet under such circumstances, although, he was glad that we had the opportunity to meet to clarify some things, not only for his department, but for departments across the State.
I told Corporal Jenkins that if/when we meet again, presumably under more favorable conditions, his beverage of choice is on me. He accepted my offer and told me to call him next time I'm down the ocean.

I spoke to Records this morning, and they are processing my request. Stay tuned.

Now carry on with the thread derailment.:)

    Bravo. Well done Sir

We shouldn’t have to. We are not breaking the law. They need to find out from their bosses, not law abiding citizens

I know we shouldn't. But if a letter or email saves my fellow man harassment by uninformed LEO isn't that worth it?

This. It should come from the AG.
This could’ve have happened years ago and would’ve been legal then too as there is no law against it.
Bruen just means that more people will be carrying.
All police agencies in the state should’ve known this stuff years ago.
    Sad.
