Along the lines of this thread, Designated Survivor is a pretty darn good show. Netflix I do believe.

Edit: Last week I did an inventory of my canned goods (soups, tuna, sardines, chili, veggies, etc) and have 72 days worth of 2000 calorie servings. If you are unaffected and know where I live, come get 'em, I won't need 'em. Plenty of other stuff you might need as well. Long Live the Queen:patriot:

In the 80's my plan was to grab a six pack and head to the capital. Hop on the back of my Buick, pop a can and wait for the fireworks. Figured to go out quick than suffer for months for the same ending.

It must be getting close to an election. It hasn't been the end of the world again in a couple years.

Lefties want us to go to war with Russia.

I don't support sending any aid to Ukraine or getting involved.

When it comes to nukes, prepping is a joke. We're all fvcked, either suddenly or slowly. I'll take suddenly, thanks. Cancer and starvation appear to suck.

Even though we agreed to it previously? When Ukraine (the country with the most nukes in the world at the time) gave up its nukes upon the breakup of the USSR, we and (no joke) Russia guaranteed Ukraine "assistance" should it ever be attacked.

I generally agree we shouldn't get involved where we don't belong, but we should live up to our word.

Fallout emits 50% of its energy in the first hour, and 80% in the first day, so staying inside is the #1 thing you can do to protect yourself on Day One.

Assuming you want to survive the after the immediate event, you have about 15 minutes depending on how close your are to ground zero to grab some of your Covid masks, potassium iodine, water, some trash bags, and get the equivalent of 3 ft of earth between you and the environment for at least 48 hours. 3 days or longer would be better. 80% of the nastiest radioactive fallout will be gone in 24 hours unless they also strike our nuke reactor sites in which case we are all dead and don't come back for a few thousand years. Sweet dreams.

Meh, if I have time, I'm going outside, raising my head to the heavens, and in my best William Wallace voice shouting "FREEDOM".

By boat is the only way
I'm not sure that is a good idea unless you are leaving from OC or Delaware and heading into the Atlantic. If you are going down the Chesapeake you will pass Norfolk which will probably be melted by the time your boat gets there.
