In the event of sabre rattling becomes a tripped trigger, when will you leave?

Just provoking thoughts.

Also have you figured out how to haul everything you have/need?

You always think you are prepared until the time comes to act...

Greenbrier was built with underground bunkers for a reason. The map I saw was built around the belief that the Russians have enough missiles to put multiple warheads in every medium size or bigger city in America. Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Lexington, they're all getting smacked. Once the radiation from the west coast heads east, most of the US is going to look very, very bad for a long time.

The best time to leave is long before any big catastrophe. You certainly couldn't leave once the panic starts. Traffic would be impossible.

If you think a nuke is likely, you should start shopping for real estate and planning your move.

Did anyone here consider leaving on 9-11 when it was obvious we were under attack?
I didn’t.
Of course I’m not sure any of us was thinking it could turn nuclear but the idea of a suitcase nuke certainly wasn’t out of the question.

You think there are no targets west or north of DC? Nowhere to go for me, so I’ll just deal with the aftermath.

I was in Holland when Chernobyl blew, we were advised to stay indoors as much as possible, and to forgo fresh local grown foods for awhile.

If you’re not a part of “continuity of government” in this area good luck getting out.
