Think I may call my friendly neighborhood Gun shop this week to see about it being on the roster. You’d think, since it’s just a material difference, it would be included under the m&p model. But that would make sense

That’s close to me. Do they have a website/hours? Or is it an appointment only place?

Dale from Bowman's Gun Shop in Darlington looked one over the other day. He said he was surprised it was still polymer under the hand grips. Might not matter but he didn't expect it.

Sorta, Matt at Archelon Defense, hes got a small and growing shop in Columbia. You can call or text him at (443) 956-7917 you can also email archelon.defense@outlook.com I’m not sure of his actual hours but he’s working all the time.

Word I'm getting is it'll be on the roster potentially in January

I’m not sure if it’s really a different model. Its kinda like there’s 200+ versions of the sig 226. Eventually it’s just a 226.

Just curios - price? It will be a while before I can afford anything new (and I need my HQL by way of the carry permit I expect to get), but when I can this and the Beretta 92FS are the contenders.
Not sure I think the metal M&P is significantly more than a polymer one. As for the beretta 92FS that gun is another rabbit hole. The Beretta vs S&W are also striker fired vs hammer.

Witt the Beretta there’s dozens of sub models frame choices of AL or Stainless, frame size, updated frame vs classic, grip choices, slide styles, sights, decocker vs safety, and trigger options. You can change or modify some of theses or get the gun just how you like it.

My BiL has a 92FS...that's why it's on the list. It's so smooth to shoot for lack of a better word and comfortable to hold.

So I stopped by Archelon Defense today and met Matt. Super nice guy with a pretty good inventory and good prices. Looked at the M&P metal and while it's really nice, I think I'm going pass. It's not that much heavier or better IMHO than my M&P Pro CORE series. It's also pricey at a little over $900.

Don't look like CORE are available anymore.

It's possible it was in the $800 range. I just know it wasn't worth it to me.
The one thing I wasn't crazy about was the polymer piece on the frontside of the grip, the stippling was super rough.
