Saw this in an email from S&W the other day. I’m a big fan of M&P pistols (I have 3) and it’s my go to for competition shooting. I’ve shot a friend’s CZ Shadow and it’s fantastic although a little tougher since I don’t have larger hands.
This new metal M&P is intriguing but I wish it was a steel frame instead of aluminum.
I still want to check one out.
    Anyone else intrigued?

I own an M&P with a polymer frame it is not a "light" gun especially running higher than their standard capacity mags. I would imagine the metal frame will help with the slide mass.

I want to put my hands on one. I’m also a big fan of M&Ps. I carry a shield in the summer and a compact in the winter.

Yes, intrigued. My M&P 2.0 9mm is one of my favorite pistols, my preferred “battle belt” secondary weapon. Only my P320 M17 shares that honor. Definitely would like to see how the possibly extra weight might benefit the shoot-ability. I don’t bag up a bunch of pistols for range day without the M&P, it usually goes in first. Keep us posted....

I like me some m&p. The frames are already rigid AF with the glass reinforced nylon, so it would just feel like added weight. So toss a light and stendo mag in a zytel one and you get close.

I carry a M&P40c (I have a 9mm barrel for practice) in the winter and love it. I thought about the metal framed gun but just can't see where it would be better than the one I own as modified by me. I would just have to spend more money for aftermarket parts 'cause I'm sure S&W isn't going to put Apex parts in it.

In my experience with other manufacturers a steel/aluminum frame really changes the feel.

I personally think polymer pistols absorb some of the recoil forces where as metal frames transmit more recoil but the extra weight keeps muzzle rise down.

    Guns I’ve shot:
    Walther PPQ
    Q4 Match
    Q4 Match Steel

    P320
    p320 legion (tungsten infused polymer)
    P320

I have a Shield and have wanted either a full-size M&P or a Beretta 92FS which I love to shoot (family member has one).

This must might swing me to the M&P

It's supposed to have a good trigger on it. On another forum talking about this pistol someone had mentioned about how many new pistols are being made with metal again and someone brought up the idea that it could possibly be a petroleum availability issue and the manufacturers are being proactive in preparing for possible future shortages. I thought that was interesting.
