Compact is compact, caliber doesn't matter unless your alternative was going to be a subcompact, .380, or micro 9.

Buy some loose T shirts in dark colors or printed patterns.

Want to know what’s more uncomfortable than appendix carry?

Not being able to carry… and finding that you needed it.

I’m not trying to be obtuse here.
However, overanalyzing this to the smallest details is going to get you nowhere.

As those who’ve been doing this for decades have found out… the only way to do it is to adjust your habits and practices to allow for the inconveniences it is going to present.

Over 3 1/2 decades of lawful concealed carry, has taught me that much about the practice.
    • choose clothing and equipment around the chosen weapon to fit without being obvious
    • make it secure, so that you are NOT “adjusting” the weapon as you walk
    • keep your hands away from the area as you go about your travels, but not held out like a guardrail. Just don’t be touching it to “check”
    • walk as you would normally
    • don’t call attention to yourself

There actually is a behavioral science known as “Characteristics of the Armed Person”. It is a study of how so many folks tend to project the fact that they are armed. Simply by mannerisms and nervous habits which they tend to do. Habits that tell the professionals “Yeah, I’m carrying a weapon… please don’t notice!” Or “Hey y’all stand back ‘cause I’m strapped!

Don’t try to overthink this sh!t.
If you have your permit, and you walk armed, and you’re doing it legal and right… then soon enough… it will become natural enough.

No one cares if you're printing.

With that said, if you don't have a smaller lighter gun, get a man purse.

The only people who have a man purse are people carrying. Better just to print.

Also, you are not printing as much as you think you are. Likely no one knows but you. I wear shortish t-shirts and shortish shorts, I carry a full size, no one knows. I am 5 10 and atheticish build. Or if they do notice, not a peep.

You will get used to it.

Glad to see MDers finally have American problems, lol.

I’m 5’9,” 165lb, and 31-32” waist with no gut, wearing medium t-shirts. I completely stopped caring about printing here in VA in 2020, so I carry a Glock 19 OWB at 3 o’clock with an X300U most of the time, even if it’s a huge bulge under a t-shirt.

Since then, I’ve occasionally carried appendix, with and without the X300U. It does conceal very nicely on me. I’d recommend playing around with different appendix holsters and belts until you find a good combo. There are foam wedges you can stick on appendix holsters to keep them from flopping forward. You can get away with a less stiff and less tight belt with appendix, especially if the holster is set up properly to torque the grip inwards.

I don’t intend to make any changes for MD.

That’s what in considering now. for me I have yet to find a position that is comfortable while driving. Most of my day is driving.

    Appendix carry is uncomfortable!
I find this to be true during most of my days activities. If I'm just standing / walking around it's fine. But I have three young children. I'm consistently bending over, kneeling on the floor, picking them up, lifting them up, etc. etc. and no matter what I try appendix carry is just not comfortable when I'm out with the kids.

For those reasons, and also summer time when I come home from work rip the uniform off and am in cargo shorts and a tank-top, I front-pocket carry my Ruger LCP Max in a kydex pocket holster. Most days I forget that it's there. Can't recommend it enough.

Gun sitting in your console is the most comfortable.
Considered that but my work van really doesn’t have a console or glove box. Just an opening though a man bag or Fanny pack designed for carry might work best. Then when I go to a restri location I can lock the bag in the gang box in the back of the van. With out a lot of noise or a torc you’re not getting in that box.

That certainly is a sticky wicket.

I switch between my Glock 19 and Sig P226 and carry at 3 o'clock, I have alien wear holders for both. I have them configured so that the holsters are on their "lowest" setting and ride the lowest when IWB, then I use an undershirt and a polo or loose tee shirt. I haven't had issues with printing. At least for me, the tucked undershirt helps a lot with covering the printing.....

It also helps to have an ugly face. People are too distracted with your face to notice the printing.
