Carry permit only works for pistols. MD law does consider SBR’s pistols.

Also, to my knowledge, there is no permit system for long guns, but you do have to exercise caution when doing so because it is illegal to carry any firearm on or within a certain distance of the premises of so-called "sensitive places" They include schools, day care facilities, hospitals, government buildings like court houses and post offices, and state and federal parks. Otherwise, you can legally carry a long gun.

That's the great thing about stabilizing braces... hunt with a 16" 300 blk upper, then when you're back at your car toss on a sba4 and a 9" 300blk upper. You now are transporting a handgun that you're permitted to have in the car with you.

With a handgun permit, keep your handgun in the holster and it’s legal.

You can’t have Shells/cartridges in your shotgun/rifle at any point if it is going to be in the vehicle. On the vehicle. Touching the vehicle. This is DNR regulations.

this is correct , dnr lurks on state land to write tickets for this .
