No idea, never got any sort of notification
If you go to the Print Application button under the HGP tab and look in the top left corner it will have the NICS number and the date just to the right is the NICS date.

Mrs. Occam just got the first status update email today on her 48xxx series application:

    Submitted 7/21
    Accepted 8/1
This makes me feel better, I submitted 7/23 and still not “accepted”. I’ll relax much more once that milestone is reached.

Looks like you didn't catch mine in your chart. I suspect the weekend has a lot to do with the variance in the time they take. Though i am not updating your chart. That's a lot of work you have put in. Thank you.

    Applied: 7/2/22 (Saturday)
    Accepted: 7/12/22 (Tuesday)
    NICS: 7/27/22 (Wednesday)
I'm only adding data to the file once it has an approval date. Not intended to be a real-time status of everyone who has reported pre-approval data without the final data point. It's actually not that much work this way, but would be if I tried to keep up with realtime input of everything before approval.

Only just a couple of data points, but three of us on here who submitted on 7/22, got our "accepted" emails today. Won't be surprised if you get your's tomorrow, if not by the end of the week. And also its funny, how each step we become relaxed about completing the step, but that means something new to be "anxious" about, until if/when we finally get our permits.
It still feels pretty cool to be anxious about something that I never expected to have to be anxious about in my lifetime. I can live with it.

If anyone is interested I getting a PA permit I recommend York County. I applied online-was approved within 24 hours. Made an appointment the next day to pickup the permit. I was in and out of the place in 15 minutes. $25 and good for 5 years. Took me longer to drive there than the whole rest of the process.

Most likely I'm going to be out of town (in a reciprocity state) when I'm finally approved. Do I need to have the actual card in hand to legally carry or should a print out of the approved paperwork be sufficient?

Permit in hand always. You can be charged if it isn't with you in MD at least. If the state you're going to is constitutional carry nothing to worry about then.
