Brought this up on another thread but, with new ruling that carry is a right, I wonder what it would take for PA to change laws and issue out of state without home state permit? Not much incentive for them to enforce that anymore, is there?

I'll be getting a non resident PA permit also. Any idea what the renewal time frame is?

PA permit is good for 5 years, provided that you maintain your MD permit during that time.

But I was halfway down the Adams County page until I realized it was Adams County Colorado!

That sucks. I hadn't looked yet. I'm in Port Deposit so that would have been the closest for me. Oh well.

Just call up and ask. Worst case scenario is they say “no, it’s on our website.” Best case scenario is “sure, we can do it for you under these circumstances.”

I looked up the process today. Hopefully I will get my Maryland in the near future and then I will apply to York County.

It looks like York County PA may be the best bet for Cecil County Wear and Carry permit holders.

The downside of a county based system is variability. In the county where I grew up (Cambria), the sheriff's office does not issue any permits outside those for county residents.

Renewal for PA? Their initial and renewals are sometimes as short as 24 hours.

PA accepted my renewal application a few minutes ago. Looking for a nice drive, although an estimated cost for fuel at $130 isn’t particularly endearing.

Holy jeez! What are you driving and are you going to Scranton to get your permit? Even Bowie to York and back is only 160 miles round trip (and there are places closer than York you could be doing it I am pretty sure). That's 4.5 miles per gallon of diesel or 6mpg of gas at today's pump costs (as high as they are). Care about the planet or not, I think you need to find a 2nd cheap vehicle that gets better than 4.5-6mpg.
